We are looking for Nexview “Nexgens”
Nexview is looking to expand scale as well as plan for the next generation of leadership to carry the firm into the future. Toward that end, we are seeking more entrepreneurial S&OP experts. We are thinking primarily US-based roles, but are open to the discussion of other geographies as we work across them.
The potential in all aspects is unlimited! The potential to help clients be successful, build the brand/firm, global experience, compensation, and definition of your own destiny. It’s a big world out there, fraught with complexity, inefficiency, and confusion. The opportunities for us are definitely there!
At Nexview we value networks, not hierarchies and because we are all senior people we work more as peers rather than in some hierarchal structure that you find in most firms. Been there, done that, it’s not for us!
This freedom is not free though. The freedom to chart your own destiny is balanced by the up and down nature of the boutique firm. We don’t do W-2 employees and the work can come in droves, spurts, or not at all. If you need/want more security (i.e., salary and benefits) join/stay with the big firm. Will offer though, we’ve seen the trend in the industry is to not hold onto the big salaries unless they’re billing, so may not be too secure!
Managing Principal/Partner
You will work as a peer to our founder to lead all aspects of business development, client relationships, staffing yourself/teams, and service delivery. You may come with your own client(s), certainly many client references. You likely have experience in firms we’re familiar with, and we probably have some colleagues in common. The intent here is for an equity partner.
You have the following characteristics and aspirations:
- You take the success or failure of your clients personally, you are devoted to their success
- Full dedication to building Nexview, if you want to contract across opportunities, that’s fine – see the next role
- You are a Sales & Operations Planning and supply chain expert with many S&OP implementations under your belt, likely across several geographies with clients of differing sizes, complexities, and industries; others have very little chance of stumping you on S&OP and supply chain matters involving process, systems, and organization
- You have demonstrated leadership throughout the consulting value chain
- You have a toolkit/methodology and want to combine it with significant amounts of existing Nexview IP; you are an experienced S&OP trainer
- You have a reputation in the industry or realize that you need to develop it further
- You are much more than an executive talker, but are also a do-er who realizes that while you can’t do everything yourself, your initial helping hand is usually found at the end of your arm
- You want your own firm now (Nexview), rather than waiting for who knows how long somewhere else, and you don’t want to build a brand and all the infrastructure from scratch; you want to be more than a subordinate employee or contracted resource for others
- You want to run the show rather than take orders from someone else who quite possibly knows less than you
- You know when to say no, whether to clients on projects, prospects, or other business situations
- You are willing to trade the predictability of salary, benefits, and advancement at big Consult-Co for life on your own terms – in the penthouse, outhouse, or somewhere in-between; your financial situation allows for this uncertainty
- You decide how to spend each day – things can fall in your lap, convert as you plan, take years to develop, or never develop at all; work input does not always equal reward and you know the entrepreneurial path to success is not linear
Hmm, no salary and I have to be super-experienced, and I have to get clients, why not just start my own firm? Good question, maybe you should. Getting clients isn’t so easy. If it was, everyone would do it. We’ve built some infrastructure, reputation, and network that have kept the lights on since 2009. The next Managing Principal will appreciate, likely have experience with these things, and realize things are generally more successful when there’s some level of fire already burning and there’s more than just you sitting by it.
Principals/Managers – Contractors
You will lead client service delivery with some oversight TBD from a Managing Principal, assist with staffing/be the staff, and provide light business development support. It’s the day-to-day hands-on service delivery role.
You have the following characteristics and aspirations:
- You take the success or failure of your clients personally, you are devoted to their success
- You are a Sales & Operations Planning and supply chain expert with some S&OP implementations under your belt, ideally across several geographies with clients of differing sizes, complexities, and industries
- You fully understand supply chain related planning and transactional systems, you may have experience configuring one or more, but the emphasis at Nexview will be on process and application, not typically on system configuration
- You are a mid to late career professional who can lead / work with client Steering and Project Teams with no/little direction
- You are in the project level detail in both content and project management
- You have some level of developed IP/prior deliverable formats, but also open to combining with Nexview methods
- Experienced S&OP trainer
- You might manage other consultants or work with them as a team member
- You are an independent consultant, you don’t need a salary or benefits, you likely have relationships with a few/several other consulting firms you contract with
- You command a high daily rate, but you’re worth it because you delight clients and deliver, commissions are available
- You may want your own firm/brand someday (Nexview?), but for now you’re also happy taking the work wherever it comes from
- You go where clients need you, this could be working from home or anywhere in the world (that is safe of course)
Executive Advisors
We are looking to grow our network of Executive Advisors who provide targeted expertise in the background or in front of clients for a high hourly rate. This could be related to industry matters or specialized knowledge areas related to our core S&OP practice. Advisors who provide referrals or support business develop opportunities that convert are paid commissions.
You have the following characteristics and aspirations:
- You are a late career or retired executive
- You want to help a high-achieving and very qualified consulting team, but one that still needs a boost here and there
- You have access to consulting services buyers and opportunistically will make referrals, or more proactively will contact them as desired, it’s up to you
- You want to stay connected to the work, but not the detail
If any of these describe you, and you are interested in working with us, please contact us and we’re happy to have a conversation.
